The standard suspension shows clear weaknesses, particularly in the fork and rear shock:
At the front, the fork is equipped with progressive springs, but the initial spring rate is too soft. Combined with an insufficient bottoming resistance, the fork quickly moves into the second, excessively stiff spring rate. In addition, damping is inadequate – resulting in an unstable and uncomfortable riding feel.
At the rear, a progressive stock spring with too little bottoming resistance causes the vehicle to operate permanently in an overly stiff spring rate. Excessive rebound damping further reduces comfort and riding dynamics.
Our suspension components are manufactured individually according to customer specifications. Spring rates and damping characteristics are precisely matched to rider weight, intended use, and riding style.
For fork modifications, we also use progressive springs, but with a firmer initial rate and a softer secondary rate. Combined with specially tuned fork oil, responsiveness is significantly improved, bumps are absorbed cleanly, and the riding feel becomes noticeably smoother.
All Wilbers rear shocks are equipped with a linear spring and optimally tuned rebound and compression damping. In addition, we correct the suspension geometry through appropriately adjusted sag values at the front and rear, as these are set far too high in the stock configuration.
The result:
More precise handling, increased comfort, and a significantly safer, more confident riding experience – noticeable in every riding situation.
