Product information
The KTM 890 Adventure | R2 Adventure has linear fork springs as standard. However, these fork springs in this motorbike give the feeling of becoming softer, for example, when braking. As a result, the vehicle appears unharmonious and loses stability at the expense of riding safety.
Wilbers uses progressive, stiffer springs that give much better feedback and thus increase safety.
KTM uses a relatively hard spring on the rear shock, which hardly compresses at all in potholes and bumps, despite the enormous suspension travel of 200mm.
A softer spring with adjusted rebound and compression damping noticeably increases comfort in addition to driving safety and stability.
The suspension geometry on front and rear axle is sensibly adjusted by the Wilbers solution. As standard, the vehicle has slightly too little negative spring travel, so the Wilbers strut is a little longer, while the seat height remains the same.
The basic edition of the Wilbers Adjustline mono shock absorber comes along with the same technology as the more complex versions. The difference is that here we leave out the compression reservoir and thus the options for adjusting high- and low-speed compression. Nonetheless this shock absorber does not make any compromises concerning response behavior or durability. The radial piston, wet run, teflon guided self-aligning bearings and other features redefine the quality of a standard shock. Like usual the spring preload can be continuously tuned and the rebound can be set over an open-bleed system in 22 clicks. The shock absorber can be retrofitted with many other Wilbers accessories.
