The BMW S1000R is fitted with linear fork springs ex works. At Wilbers, we also use linear fork springs, but with different gradations depending on rider weight, weather conditions (for racetrack use) and the intended use.
We recommend SAE5 or GP5 fork oil depending on the desired application (whether for road or track use). The GP5 fork oil is recommended for racetrack use.
During the Wilbers conversion, the negative spring travel and the response behaviour were optimised.

The standard shock absorber has far too much rebound damping. With the Wilbers shock absorber, both the rebound damping and the compression damping have been optimised.
This offers the advantage of a larger adjustment range compared to the standard version, as the Wilbers QRR shock absorber is fully adjustable in the compression stage.

This results in significantly improved riding behaviour and better handling, which also contributes to safer riding behaviour.
