ESA Repair
The BMW ESA system (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) allows electronic adjustment of damping and spring preload conveniently via the handlebar controls. The adjustment is carried out by integrated stepper motors mounted directly on the shock absorber, which precisely implement the selected suspension settings.
Over time, environmental influences such as moisture, dirt, and mechanical stress can lead to wear or failure of individual components, particularly the stepper motors and associated electronics. A defect in the original ESA shock absorber often results in limited functionality or a complete loss of adjustment capability.
As part of our WESA conversion, we offer professional refurbishment of the ESA components. During this process, the original shock absorber is fully disassembled, the defective stepper motor is replaced, and the electrical cable entry is upgraded with an improved, technically optimised solution. The electronic components are then integrated into a new, high-quality Wilbers WESA shock absorber.
Important: Repair or refurbishment of ESA components is carried out exclusively in conjunction with a conversion to a Wilbers WESA suspension system. We do not offer standalone repair or refurbishment of the original BMW ESA shock absorber without a simultaneous WESA conversion.
