Harley-Davidson achieves top ten finish in six-hour race at Oschersleben

Harley-Davidson made its mark in European motorsport and achieved a place among the top ten in the Superbike class at the final race of the German Endurance Cup for motorcycles at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. The endurance race impressively demonstrated the riders’ skills, the durability of the machines, and the technical progress made – and Harley-Davidson impressed all around!

Two H-D teams took to the track, each showcasing a different aspect of the US brand’s expertise in technology and racing.

• Team 131 competed in the Endurance class with a race-prepared Harley-Davidson Performance Bagger, developed in cooperation with Wilbers Products. Riders David Datzer and Andreas Schäfer held second place in the field before a hairline crack in the custom-made fuel tank forced a strategic retirement after 134 laps. Team principal André Jäger praised the machine’s performance and described the result as a successful stress test under tough racing conditions.

• Team 121 completed the six-hour race in the Superbike class. Thilo Günther rode a near-standard Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 ST, while Chris Lietsch piloted the “Plan B” Hooligan bike, crafted by Harley-Davidson Germany. The team secured ninth place in the class, highlighting the reliability and power of the Pan America 1250 range.

The use of synthetic e-fuels from Nordoel enabled the Harley-Davidson teams to complete a 95 per cent CO₂-neutral race without any engine modifications – a clear step towards sustainable motorsport that underlines the American brand’s environmental awareness. In addition, the H-D teams were supported by partners such as Wilbers Products, Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde, Metzeler and Don Performance.

The race-proven Harley-Davidson bikes are, of course, also available in road-legal versions. More information can be found at Harley-Davidson.com, where you can also locate your nearest authorised dealer.
