Florian Alt starts for the Wilbers Racing Team!

Nordhorn - Wilbers Racing starts in the upcoming Superbike-IDM 2020 with the German top talent Florian Alt! The Superbike Team from Nordhorn, supported by BMW, signed the 23-year-old from Gummersbach on Monday. Despite his young age, Florian Alt already has immense racing experience. "I finally want to win the Superbike IDM title," explained the 1.89-metre tall Alt. "For this I needed a top motorbike with an appropriate team". Superbike Technical Director Burkhard Stember, who has also been "Vice" three times with his team in the last 10 years, can only underline this: "We also want to finally take the last step and win the title! Florian is young and extremely motivated.

Alt, who drove his first motorbike races as a child and won his first championship at the age of eight, won the extremely competitive Red Bull Rookies Cup and also the 125 IDM in 2012. In 2016 and 2017, the blonde-haired man finished second in both the Superbike IDM. After trips to the Moto3 and Moto2 World Championships, his path led him to the endurance scene, where Alt won various World Cup races. In 2020 Florian will continue to compete in the Endurance World Championship, but he is determined to upgrade his programme with a sprint series like IDM Superbike.

In mid-March the newly formed Wilbers Racing Team and Florian Alt will go to Spain for six days of testing, so that the man from Gummersbach can intensively prepare himself for his new BMW S1000RR type K67. At the end of April another 2-day test will take place before the IDM Superbike Season 2020 starts on May 7th at the Sachsenring.
